Here at APPD, our officers are some of the best heroes around! In fact, some of our officers go above and beyond, choosing to serve both locally, nationally, and even internationally! We are proud to announce that our very own Corporal Baker, who is also a Sergeant in the Army National Guard, is deploying to Egypt this year as a member of their MFO (Multinational Force & Observers). During this time, Corporal Baker will be working with international forces from Egypt, Australia, Germany, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and others in an effort to keep the peace between Egypt and Israel.
While on this peacekeeping mission, Corporal Baker’s unit will monitor, operate, and observe checkpoints and posts along the countries’ borders. His unit will also perform reconnaissance patrols and monitor activity in the canals between Israel and Egypt. The unit will also make up a QRF (Quick Reaction Force), responding when the surrounding cities require military assistance.
Although Corporal Baker’s exact location and travel information can’t be shared, we anticipate that he will be back here to keep our streets safe by the end of the year. We look forward to sharing his peacekeeping adventures with you, so stay tuned (on the APPD Facebook Page)!
Thank you for you and your family’s sacrifice. We salute you!
Sincerely,
Chief and APPD Family
