Editor’s Note: Police departments should be recognized for the great work they do. Here’s a post from the Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Police Department sharing some positive feedback the department received from its residents.

Every week we receive phone calls, letters and emails from residents, or others passing through Eden Prairie, thanking us for the work we do — both big and small. Here are a few that we’ve received recently:

Thank you from:

  • A woman we arrested for DWI. Her arrest led her to realize her addiction and get help.
  • A woman whose purse was stolen. She thanked us for catching the suspects so quickly and for the officers’ patience and availability after the incident.
  • A social worker who requested police assistance for an adult protection case. She praised the officers’ calm presence and professional demeanor for preventing an escalation.
  • A couple whose request for a welfare check ending in finding their friend deceased. The couple appreciated the officer’s kindness and compassion.
  • A local school when officers unlocked a car with a child who had accidentally been locked inside.
  • A family who had received a door hanger from officers notifying them that their garage door had been left open overnight.
